Sapna managed and catered a fun filled charity event on the 30th of January.
The mayor of London sanctioned the day, the location was South London and various local leaders of the community had turned out to help raise money. The Mayor of Bromley with the local councillors presided throughout the event.
The day started with stage plays featuring children from local schools. This was followed by speeches by individuals who are actively involved in relief work in Aceh, Indonesia as well as a speech by the mayor.
The theme for the event was formal white on blue, elegant yet welcoming. Stalls were setup to help raise funds, selling anything from traditional Indian purses to henna mehndi.
The menu was designed keeping in mind the local community as they hail from the Punjab region. Thus an authentic Punjabi meal was provided with delicious starters such as Chicken mix grill and tandoori seekh kebabs, the main course featured mouth-watering dishes including Lamb Biryani, Haandi Chicken and Baingan Masalla. The sweet taste of Lahori Kheer brought the proceedings to an end.
